From my Shide series.
Approx 65mm x 52mm.
Folded bits of silver and gold that follow the pattern of shide seen at temples in Japan. Shide are sheets of white paper cut, folded and used in Shinto rituals. They are often hung from plaited rice rope (shimenawa 注連縄) to signify the presence of spirits or ward off demons.
These brooches also look fabulous worn as a pendant long or short on a chain or silk rope. Contact me if you would like me to arrange something suitable.
